Black Truffle Risotto

Black Truffle Risotto

This is my favorite risotto recipe to date. It’s honestly better than any risotto I’ve had at a restaurant, and the truffles just take it to the next level. SO. GOOD. And perfect for group gatherings or holiday dinners. If you’re into mushrooms, I’d highly…

WHY PLANT-BASED ?

WHY PLANT-BASED ?

The plant-based vegan lifestyle has been a topic of discussion around the world. Why plant-based?

With the continuous industrialization of food production, people are struggling more than ever with chronic health conditions and illnesses.

With modern-day factory farms and food processing techniques, the food we eat has changed significantly.

After experiencing food sensitivities myself, I came to realize that there is more to eating healthy than most of us are aware of.

Being healthy goes beyond the simple calorie-in-calorie-out concept. There are countless other components to health that are often overlooked and unaccounted for.

Although there are upsides to food industrialization, such as mass production and distribution, the fact of the matter is that processed isn’t always pure.

I like to think of things intuitively… SO, as human beings, our bodies are organic, or originating of materials naturally occurring on this planet. If our bodies are made of organic materials and have the power to continuously grow, change, and heal naturally, why should we be fueling them with anything synthetically produced?

Perhaps it’s possible to scientifically mimic macro/micronutrients in labs to sustain ourselves; but is that really the most ideal and effective way of attaining and maintaining a state of optimal health?

If you really consider our society’s current health paradigm, you will find it heavily skewed. Like the pharmaceutical industry, the food industry is primarily a business. Business first, health second.

Maybe it’s not so hard to believe that the food you’re encouraged to consume would require you to become dependent on pharmaceuticals at some point down the road… It’s called the Food and Drug Administration for a reason. And it’s less than likely that their goal is for all of humanity to live a healthy life, free of processed foods and pharmaceuticals.

Questioning this system we all know and love is what led me to my current whole food plant-based lifestyle.

When you can feed your body with the most natural, pure, and organic fruits and vegetables, you will thrive, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

As we grow and age, the materials our cells use to renew themselves come directly from our food.

It may seem irrelevant or unimportant on a superficial level, but I can assure you from my own personal experience, the quality of what we consume has an immeasurable significance to our overall health.
